Dear new Mom,

I understand that dropping your little one off at day care for the first time can be an emotional experience. It’s completely normal to feel anxious and nervous. Let me assure you that you’re not alone, and many parents go through similar feelings. Here are some expectations for your child’s first day at day care:

Warm Welcome

The staff at the CKA is well-trained and experienced. We will greet you and your child warmly. We understand that this is a big step for both of you.

Transition Time

Expect a transition period. It’s common for children to feel a mix of emotions during drop-off. Some may cry, while others might be excited to explore their new surroundings. The staff will be there to support your child during this adjustment.

Communication

Our staff will keep you informed throughout the day using Brightwheel. We will let you know how your child is doing, and please give us some time to message you. As you can imagine, many of the parents are looking for an update. We will try and let you know what they’ve eaten, and if they’ve taken naps. Don’t hesitate to ask questions or share any specific instructions.

Activities and Play

Your child will engage in age-appropriate activities, play, and socialize with other kids.

Meals and Snacks

CKA will distribute your child’s provided meal and snacks. If your child has any dietary restrictions or allergies, make sure to communicate this to the staff.

Comforting Goodbyes

You’re doing an amazing job as a parent, and your child is in good hands. Take a deep breath, and remember that this is a step toward their development and independence.

Trust the Staff

Remember that we are skilled at handling separation anxiety. We will comfort your child and help them settle in. Trust our expertise.

Positive Reinforcement

When you pick up your child, celebrate their day! Ask about their activities and praise their efforts. Positive reinforcement will make them look forward to the next day.

Self-Care

Lastly, take care of yourself. It’s okay to feel emotional, but try to focus on the positive aspects of this new adventure for your child. They’ll learn, grow, and make friends.

You’re doing an amazing job as a parent, and your child is in good hands. Take a deep breath, and remember that this is a step toward their development and independence. 🌟

Wishing you both a wonderful first day at day care! 🌈
